In a visit to Khuzestan Province: BIM’s Chairman & Managing Director Met the Governor of This Province

Hossein Mehri, BIM’s chairman and managing director, met with Gholamreza Shariati, the governor of Khuzestan province.

According to BIM's Information Center, Mehri, who had traveled to Khuzestan Province for visiting provincial authorities, manufacturers and some industrial projects, said, ‘Aiming  at the industrial development in Khuzestan Province, BIM has played an instrumental role in creating employment in this province through financing huge industrial projects more than one billion euros, and it strives to be at the service of decent people of Khuzestan through a closer and stronger relationship with the manufacturers and entrepreneurs. This bank has taken great measures in Khuzestan, but it is not sufficient. We are seeking to increase our pivotal role in this province through planning and adopting strategic policies.’
He emphasized, ‘Despite the bank's small number of branches, it has been able to perform remarkably in the province, so that it managed to earn the first rank among all banks of the province due to the payment of facilities in the form of a production boom plan in 2016 and 2017.’
Considering the bank’s role in the province, BIM’s chairman and managing director stated, ‘ Among the large, small and medium-sized projects that were financed by BIM in this province, only two petrochemical projects of Masjed Soleyman with a value of 432 million euros and South Roohina Steel Project with 100 million euros have created 1300 direct job opportunities.’
He pointed out that the bank has been able to finance 6 thousand megawatts from 70 thousand megawatts of power generation capacity of the country; this figure equals 9% of the mentioned capacity. He maintained, ‘BIM finances Andimeshk and Omidiyeh Power Plants with a capacity of 1,500 megawatts in Khuzestan Province, and this enormous action is under operation.’

The senior manager of the bank added, ‘Huge projects Such as Masjed Soleyman Petrochemicals, Shadegan Steel Co., Behbahan Power Plant and seven projects including South Alborz Neopan, Roohina Steel Co., Arvand Marine Indusry, Pars Haft Tappe Steel Co., Aria Steel Alvand, Persian kimia Chlorine Co., and Glucozan Karkhe are among the aforementioned projects being carried out with BIM facilities in Khuzestan Province. After their completion, 3,500 direct employment will be created.’
Gholamreza Shariati, Khuzestan governor, said, ‘BIM has played a significant role in the industrial development of the province, and everyone who has been involved in projects such as South Roohina Steel Complex, Masjed Soleyman Petrochemicals, Behbahan Power Plant by Mapna, and other industrial projects financed by this bank will acknowledge this issue.’
He added, ‘Among the banks cooperating in financing the industrial projects of the province, BIM is accounted as a special one; therefore, it can be claimed that the bank is considered the most influential bank in the industry and mine sector of Khuzestan Province.’

Expressing satisfaction at the final stages of South Roohina Steel Complex and Masjed Soleyman Petrochemical Company, Khuzestan Governor stated, ‘Fortunately, Andimeshk Power Plant is being operationalized by BIM, which will lead to a positive change in electricity supply of Khuzestan Province.’
 Mentioning the difference between the province authorities' level of expectations from BIM, Shariati emphasized that the abovementioned expectations are due to BIM’s efficient and competent experts and managers along with more than 6 decades of continuous activity in financing the industrial projects of the country.
